I've always been a pretty big Hellboy fan. I love the tales Mike Mignola puts Hellboy through as he spins plots out of mythology and folklore, with a healthy dose of '30's pulp and Kirby Krackles!
Recently they published the Hellboy Companion, and it is a MUST READ for fans of Hellboy.

For this piece I took Pasqual Ferry's redesign for Shilo from Seven Soldiers and sprinkled in snippets of Jack Kirby's original design, namely the gloves, boots, and collar.

Vampire Hunter D

Well, here's D. I tried to include elements of both costumes he wears in the animated movies. I would have incorporated more Yoshitaka Amano if I actually had a plan of action when drawing this piece.

This is Tidus from Final Fantasy X wearing Shujin's clothes from Final Fantasy X-2. Shujin's clothes are so much cooler than Tidus' duds.

What's this all about?

This blog is going to be my online gallery to display a series of single character illustrations I have been wanting to draw.

I thought about all the characters from movies, comics, games, cartoons, etc. that I would like to draw but have never gotten around to doing and decided that I would like to depict some pre-established characters for once.

So I went and wrote down a bunch of those characters' names on little slips of paper, put the slips into a jar, and then I pick names out randomly and draw the character I picked.

Maybe my idea for this blog will evolve at a later date, but for right now I am content to pick a name and draw it.

If anyone has any suggestions for characters please feel free to let me know. If my interest is piqued by the suggestion I will definitely throw the name on a slip of paper and put it in the jar.
